Being an avid snowboarder, the Jungfrau mountain range provided me with some of the best riding Europe has to offer. Aside from its beauty, these mountains offer some of the best snow conditions I have yet to encounter in my many years of searching for the ultimate run. Blue bird skies, fresh powder, and easily accessible, Interlaken is a winter sports enthusiast’s dream. And if you prefer to capture a different view of this wonderful city, the scenery doesn’t get any better than when skydiving out of a helicopter at 14000 feet! Don’t ski? Not a fan of flying? How about experiencing the epic adrenaline rush of one of the only two canyon swings in the entire world while your friends gawk at you swinging at 70 miles per hour through the nearly 300 foot deep canyon (trust me, it’s about the biggest rush out there!)?
Our accommodations at the Funny Farm/Hotel Mattenhof were phenomenal. Right in the center of town, it’s the classic Swiss mountain lodge. It has an amazing club in its basement, a cozy lounge bar featuring the warmth of a fireplace, and an exceptionally caring staff. I couldn’t have asked for more during a weekend in the Swiss Alps. Now, there is only question that remains; when can I go back?
