I share this little story because it can directly relate to your study abroad experience. Traveling is one of my favorite things in the world, and when I studied abroad, I went away almost every weekend to explore different parts of Europe.
The way low-budget airlines work, such as RyanAir or EasyJet, is that the earlier you book the ticket, the cheaper tickets you will be able find. It can be really fun to hang out with your friends, and out of nowhere, decide to take a weekend trip somewhere, but just realize that it can get really expensive when you do not plan a trip ahead of time. I love being spontaneous, but it can be very cost-efficient to plan some things, and be a little bit more organized.
Fortunately, for those spontaneous study abroad students, there's Euroadventures! That's actually how I first learned about Euroadventures; I ended up booking a weekend trip to Interlaken, Switzerland, two hours before the departure time! It was an incredible weekend, and I ended up meeting some of my best friends from when I studied abroad on that trip! Now, I work for the company. Funny how things worked out!
Spontaneity can provide some of the best times a person can have abroad, but know that planning ahead has its advantages as well.
