I know, you all are looking for that special someone, that guy who is cultured and experienced, mature and well-traveled. But here’s the thing, that guy is not looking for you. Don’t take that the wrong way, Its just bad timing. its not you, its him.
See heres the thing; that guy you are looking for is also looking for something. He’s looking for inspiration, he’s looking for adventure, he’s looking for excitement. Its not that you can’t provide those things, but he’s looking for something else entirely. It comes from something that a human does not possess. He is looking for natural beauty. He is looking for caves, for lost beaches, for indigenous cultures. He is looking for something that can never be found. He is looking for himself.
I know, I know, you girls are all looking for someone with ambition. And who’s more ambitious then the guy who says “screw it” and packs up his bag to backpack through Argentina? Thats real ambition right there. It takes a real man to leave everything he has behind, and take off for the open road. And yeah, he’s probably ruggedly handsome and knows how to widdle and all that shit but who would want a hand carved candle holder when you could get necklace from Tiffany's. Yeah, no, ambition is definitely not something you want in a guy.
You’re probably hoping to date a guy with some money too. The problem with guys who travel is that they don’t have a penny. When you see a guy exploring he’s not actually enjoying the architecture of medieval Prague, he’s actually wondering how he can eat his next meal. No girl wants to date a guy who spends all his time exploring exotic cities looking for something delicious to eat. Hell no, you definitely don’t want to date a guy who’s looking for some decent wine at an affordable price. You definitely don’t want to date a guy who’s fiscally responsible.
Most importantly, you’re probably looking for a guy with a job. Right? Who doesn’t want a nice guy with a steady paycheck. Well heres the thing, any guy who is traveling the world definitely doesn’t have a job. Hell, its probably the last thing he’s looking for. I mean ladies, why would you want to date a guy who has cliff jumped in Greece or skydived in Switzerland when you could find a nice guy who works a 9 - 5 job filling out TPS reports. STABILITY ladies, that’s what you need. You definitely don’t want to date a guy who travels.
In the end, dating a guy who travels will inevitably to lead to you quitting your job, hopping on a train to Berlin, reading a good book, cuddling up with your scruffy significant other, and falling asleep in his arms, not knowing where the open road is going to take you.
And seriously, nobody wants that.
