While studying abroad in Europe, you find yourself experiencing all types of different nightlife. When I studied in Rome, I instantly fell in love with the electronic music scene. Now after a few years, music in a lot of clubs have become extremely repetitive, mainstream, and predictable. If you are looking for something new and exciting, check out one of the clubs listed below These are some my favorites clubs to go to, and your guaranteed a different experience than one of the more popular discoteca’s.
For those who know the Florence nightlife, you understand there are tons of clubs to choose from every night of the week. I can personally guarantee, that after attending Tenax once, you will never look at the rest of clubs in Florence the same. Every weekend, this venue brings the biggest Techno DJ’s in the world. From Marco Carola, Loco Dice, Luciano, Dubfire, and many more, this place will never disappoint. The resident DJ’s are also incredible, and leave you wanting more. From the lazers, smoke, and booming bass; this nightclub is for the real electronic music fans. Keep in mind though, that this is a very Italian club, and you won’t see many Americans there.
Berlin has always been known for its quality techno and nightlife venues. When first arriving to Tresor, you might just think it’s an abandoned warehouse, but once you enter it turns into an awesome setting for a perfect night of dancing. From multiple stages, thick clouds of smoke, and bass reverberating every which way; Tresor never disappoints. As well, drinks are actually fairly priced at this club, and stays open until 8-9 a.m.! Definitely a great choice for a solid night out in Berlin.
If you are in the mood to experience a true Spanish party, then there’s no better event than Elrow Sunday Morning. For 12 hours once a week, this place brings the best techno, tech-house, and minimal DJ’s, to play a venue that exceeds most club atmospheres. From the crazy costumes, large inflatable objects, swimming through streams of confetti and smoke; this club will be an experience you never forget. Imagine walking through a jungle bumping to tribal house music, and that’s what it’s like going to Elrow. It’s currently ranked at #17 in the world on DJ Mag. It’s located outside the city center, but there is a free shuttle service every 30 minutes leaving from Placa Catalunya.
