The French Riviera is full of hidden beaches that only the locals know about, and even fewer of them talk about. This article will give you an in depth review on each of these beaches, and help you find your sanctuary along the beautiful French Riviera.
The town along the southern part of Villefranche is a little beach town with French restaurants, and antique shows every Sunday. You can make your way to the tip of the southern peninsula and explore an old fort that overlook the entire bay. From the fort you can see the other side of the bay. The water is lined with expensive houses scattered about the rocky shore. It is clear there are two distinct sides of this little town – the commercial part, and the residential part. According to legend, many famous celebrities and businessmen have houses along the residential side of Villefranche.
Another cool thing about this town is that you can easily walk there from Nice. A path leads the way along the one-hour hike along the coast from the northern most point of Nice into Villefranche. If you aren’t looking for a hike, you can easily take a 5 minute train ride from Nice. The great thing about the Nice train station is that a train leaves every 30 minutes, so you can head over anytime of the day and not have to wait longer then about 15 minutes to catch the next train there.
Since the water is so calm here, it is a great place to go paddle-boarding, or jet skiing. You can rent a paddleboard or jet ski right at the beach, and since there is very little demand for them, often times you can stay out on the water longer then you paid for. The best part about being on the water is that about 100 feet from the beach, along one of the cliffs, is a giant cave that you can go and explore. It is about 15 feet high and 20 feet wide, and you can swim into it.
The sandy beach is very nice because it is not overly crowded, however, it definitely brings a crowd. The people who come to Beaulieu Sur Mer tend to be a younger crowd. It is located in a small bay, with calm green water. There is a restaurant on the beach that offers affordable ice-cream, beer, and food.
The beach itself has nice turquoise waters with small pebbles. This beach is even quieter then the other beaches, because most people visit Eze for the mountain top town rather then the beach.
Honestly, the French Riviera is the place to be. There is nowhere else in the world like it. Beaches, beautiful people, fancy cars, and an amazing atmosphere. Get there as soon as you can and start exploring!
