When you’re in Europe, you’re going to walk by plenty of churches, and even go in to explore a few. European churches are beautiful and are covered floor-to-ceiling with art. It is totally worth it to walk through and just take in the breathtaking gorgeousness of the church. However, most churches are very conservative and require people to follow three general dress rules: covered shoulders, covered knees, and covered toes. (In most cases knee-length shorts, dresses, and skirts would be fine). It’s suggested that you actually wear the proper clothing in churches out of respect, and sometimes you’ll be asked to leave if you’re not dressed properly.
